On October 7th, Fuji TV reported that former Empress Michiko of Japan experienced a fall at the Akasaka Imperial Estate in Tokyo, but details regarding her injuries remain unclear.
According to the report, the 89-year-old former empress, who now resides at the Sento Imperial Palace following her husband’s abdication, fell in the morning. She was taken to Tokyo University Hospital that afternoon for precautionary examinations. It’s worth noting that she had contracted COVID-19 in June, but fortunately, her symptoms were mild, and she has since made a full recovery. Former Emperor Akihito was not infected during that time.
